What is the Shelf Life/Expiration date of meals?

Our meals have an estimated shelf life between 18 and 24 months past the manufactured date that is located _______ on the package. As we are a new company, we are doing our due diligence to test the safety and quality of our food overtime. Our products are lab tested under both accelerated conditions and in real time. At this time, we can guarantee a real time shelf life of 3 months and will continue to update our customers as our testing continues.

Do you use preservatives in your meals?

Hell no! Our meals are made with real food, no joke. We don’t use any chemical preservatives or additives, the preservation comes from removing water and oxygen through the freeze-dry process to naturally preserve our dishes.

Is your food freeze-dried or dehydrated?

We preserve our food using the latest technology and are proud to say that all of our products are freeze-dried.

Why freeze dry?

For starters, freeze-dried food most closely resembles the fresh version of it. It retains nearly all of its nutritional and sensory (taste, texture, aroma) qualities.

Are your products Gluten Free?

Yep! The recipes we developed do not contain gluten. It wasn’t even on purpose, just one of those happy accidents we’ll keep going to make sure we don’t exclude anyone.

Do you carry Vegan/Vegetarian Products?

Of course we do! Everyone deserves good food, especially when you’re out having an adventure. You can find our veggie meals listed here because we don’t want anyone left out or having to sacrifice food for their adventure.

Are your meals organic?

We are not certified organic, yet,  but we do use organic ingredients and point that out on our labels.

Why are your meals €10?

Open that last pouch of traditional camping food you brought but refused to eat. You remember it right? The odd coloured pouch with uninspiring photos… does it feel like heavy dog food in your hands? Or is it the one that’s mostly noodles, powder and no meat?

 

Cheap food is, well, cheap. That’s why you find most manufacturers putting processed “puzzle piece”  ingredients, or cheap pasta and grains into their packs. 

T4Adventure food is real food. We’ve shaken the hands of the farmers we purchase from, we cook the wholesome meals in small batches and our packs are loaded with premium Irish ingredients.

Are T4Adventure pouches biodegradable?

You know it! Jenn wouldn’t have it any other way. She started T4 because meals in the shops were not only tasteless and nutrient deficient, they added to landfill too – not a single pouch was even recyclable!

After a few years researching (and waiting for the right technology to be developed) we found a manufacturer that could create a pouch that kept food safe and in peak quality for 2 years, could hold hot water to cook a meal, remain durable while eating it and degrade into toxin-free plant matter (biomass).

No matter where your empty pouch ends up, you can be sure it will break down safely – all it needs are the microbes naturally found in soil, water or landfills.

From our label to our bag, right down to the zipper and lining, our specially formulated packaging is even compostable in a home or backyard compost.

Does the cooking time/temperature need to be adjusted at different elevations?

Our directions are set for sea level. Rehydration times will be longer at higher elevations.

Do I need to cook my meal?

Nope! All meals are cooked by chefs and ready to eat, just add boiling water!

Do I need to use boiling water?

We would recommend using freshly boiled water. The meal will rehydrate with warm water, you’ll just need to stir more frequently and wait longer for the food to rehydrate.
Using cold water isn’t ideal as hot meals go, but sometimes necessary depending on your activity (looking at you ocean rowers) so plan to wait at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, before you dig in.

Where do you ship?

We are currently available for shipment to the EU. We are constantly looking to improve our reach, to see if your country is available for delivery, enter your address at checkout. Please send us a note if we are not yet available in your area, but would like us to be.

Return Policy

T4 Adventure has a 30 days return policy. Past 30 days we are unfortunately unable to offer a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in its original packaging. To set up a return or exchange for an item please contact us here.

We require a receipt or proof of purchase in order to process your return. Discounted or on sale items are not eligible for a refund.
